Who are Barnstondale?

Our charity is the only one of its kind in the area and plays an integral part in the offering to young people. A visit to Barnstondale can really make a difference and change our visitors’ perspectives, offering new experiences or overcoming challenges in ways they never thought would be possible.
As a charity, it's our mission to make what we do available to as many young people as possible. We offer bursary places to children who would otherwise be unable to come and experience our centre. Thanks to the generosity of our supporters and donors, and our annual operating surplus, we strive to support more children year on year.
What are we raising funds for?

Our Bursary Scheme funds residential trips for disadvantaged children from the 10-20% most deprived communities in the UK. This year we have supported 555 children in part funding their place on a residential experience, alongside their peers. We want to continue funding 100% of applications and with your support we can continue accepting applications from children who are from socially and economically disadvantaged backgrounds. Children that are more likely to experience poor material outcomes, poor health and do worse in their education (OECD, 2022).
£280 will mean we can fund 3 more children on a 2.5-day residential experience, children who would otherwise miss out on an opportunity to visit our facilities, alongside their peers.

The aim of this event is to raise enough money to fund 100 children through our bursary scheme, giving 100 the opportunity to experience a 2.5-day residential experience alongside their peers. No child should be left back at school!
