Wild Wood

Our Wildwood activity adventure begins with a walk into our beautiful woodland. The path will take you alongside a flowing stream where you will have the opportunity to see a variety of trees and wildflowers, as well as observe wildlife living in its natural environment. 

Arriving at the team base, activities will begin and will include demonstrations and guided support to learn useful skills. With activities such as knot skills, successful shelter building and an understanding of the woodland area, this is the start of a really fun session. 
 
Groups are separated into small teams and encouraged to use their initiative to build a shelter using outdoor equipment and natural materials which allows them to enhance their designs. Using fire lighting techniques, teams can create a campfire as part of their wild wood experience. The introduction of forest facts, tree identification and various tree measuring processes, means that the teams go away with a greater understanding of the environment around them. 

Wild Wood adventure gives participants of all ages and experiences, the opportunity to develop skills such as teamwork, independent thinking and environmental awareness. All these activities and skills add up to a fantastic, enjoyable experience at Barnstondale!
